Does old age make you ugly?
Daisy, a 70 years old lady, was reminiscing her youthful days while she was watching her marriage photo album. Her eyes were filled with tears when she was recollecting past moments of joy and sorrow. She was thinking that she was beautiful and charming when she was young, and now her face is full of fine lines, spots, aging, and dullness. She felt that she is no more beautiful and that is the reason her husband and children do not love her the way they used to love her when she was young.
Caroline, her granddaughter, sitting along with her grandma on the couch, wiped off her tears. She asked for the reason, and her grandma said that those are the tears of happiness of having loving children and grandchildren. Daisy expressed her love for her family members. Caroline hugged her and kissed her forehead.
Suddenly, Caroline’s mother called her and she left the room. Daisy’s eyes were again filled with tears. Joseph, Daisy’s husband, entered the room and saw Daisy in tears. He enquired about the reason. Daisy didn’t answer the question, rather asked if she looks ugly.
Joseph was surprised at Daisy and responded “no” to the question. Again he asked the same question but didn’t get any response. Daisy asked Joseph if he still love her. Joseph agreed but Daisy replied that she is not as beautiful as she used to be in her middle age.
Joseph carefully listened to what Daisy was saying and he understood the situation that his wife is upset after looking at her younger days photographs.
It is true that outer beauty diminishes with age but at the same time inner beauty increases which is the main aspect that makes him/her still loved by their loved ones.
Daisy again asked if her old age makes her ugly. However, Joseph denied it and said that she is more beautiful than she was. Daisy told Joseph that he is lying because one can clearly observe the dull and ugly face at such an age.
Joseph smiled and told that his love and affection for her wife is beyond the outer looks. He quoted many reasons for his love for his wife. His wife managed his home very well throughout their married life, she took care of their children and give them a good value system, she shared all the responsibilities with her husband, and she never left her husband alone in the difficult phases of their life. Joseph added that he is thankful to Daisy for being at his side throughout their life.
Always value the inner beauty of your loved one. Outer beauty has a short life but inner beauty remains with the person throughout their life.
